Bringing together negative emotions and memories in a cathartic process of digital assembly, these multi-layered digital collages, sourced from a wide range of media, call upon the symbolic use of flowers, inspired by late renaissance paintings, along with melancholic themes of death to offer a raw look into the darker side of self-reflection.
Born in Thailand but raised in the UK, Peng graduated in Photography at Norwich University of the Arts, before returning to Thailand six years ago to live in Bangkok. Peng’s work is highly personal, bringing together negative emotions and memories in a cathartic process of digital assembly. These multi-layered digital collages, sourced from a wide range of media, are then printed to a more traditional canvas. The symbolic use of flowers, inspired by late renaissance paintings, along with melancholic themes of death make Peng’s work a raw look into the darker side of self reflection.
