Kanjana Chonsiri was born in 1989 on Phuket Island, Thailand. She completed her BFA, Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University and graduated with honors. For her, nature offers an opportunity for endless learning. Her creative process relies on immersion and interaction with the real environment as she believes that what we feel as real internally prevails in significance over what we perceive as real externally. She strives to create works celebrating a combined aesthetic: drawing upon the images she see around herself and images conjured up by the mind. Kanjana’s work has won several awards including the 29th Young Artist Award and 59th National Art Award. Her works have been awarded in many exhibitions including the Asia Plus Exhibition, Toshiba Young Artists Exhibition, Panasonic Exhibition, Amata Young Artists Exhibition and the National Art Awards.
