JOE: indulgence/indulgence follows Saint Joseph as they explore, contribute, and receive the neighborhood of Soi Convent, leaving google reviews behind as evidence of patronage and participation in the economy of salvation. Saint Joseph Convent school was established as an effigy and institution in 1904 in the community of present-day soi Convent to serve the “temporary needs” of European families in Bangkok. Elissa Rae Ecker is an American interdisciplinary maker, educator, and arts manager currently based in Bangkok, Thailand. Elissa’s project-based practice responds to expanding feminisms by exploring relationships between traditional and new media through projects occupying and developing screen-based experiences and object-based craft. Sincerity and humor play a role in her works as reflections on the absurdity within the need for ongoing feminist critique. She is a co-founder of LIV_ID collective, lecturer in the Communication Design program at SOA+D KMUTT, and gallery coordinator at Bridge Arts Space in Bangkok. Her work has been included in exhibitions and screenings internationally.
